Blue skies and warm temperatures bring us outdoors. Gardening, running, soccer, tennis. But if we do too much, too soon, we may feel it the next day in our shins with what is commonly referred to as “shin splints”. Feeling the pain, we may stop all our activity and resign to hobbling around until the pain subsides. Or you can get fast relief with Bowenwork!
“Shin splint” is the term to describe pain in the lower leg below the knee, commonly felt in the bone (tibia), or slightly to either side of the bone in the muscles. There is a specialized procedure in Bowenwork called Knee Reflex Procedure that is used for shin splints. It’s also a great procedure for kids that experience growing pains in their shins! In my practice, I’ve used it successfully for both shin splints and growing pains, often requiring only one session.
So there’s no need to keep yourself out of summer activities due to shin splints. Bowen can help: every body benefits with Bowen!
